Sambhar has the most famous salt lake which is widespread over 5700 meters square area. To ease the salt-making process, the lake is divided by a 5 km long dam. Being elliptical in shape, the lake comprises five river streams – Mendha, Rupangarh, Khandel, and Karian. Apart from salt production, the lake is home to thousands of birds.

Another major attraction is the Sambhar wildlife sanctuary which is spread over 24,000 hectares. This sanctuary is a paradise for birds. You will get to watch thousands of flamingos, making Sambhar India’s most significant habitat for flamingos.
